For years, the government has been relocating the world's geniuses (and their families) to the picturesque Pacific Northwest town of Eureka, where daily life straddles the line between unprecedented innovation and total chaos. US Marshal Jack Carter finds this out firsthand when he wrecks his car and becomes stranded there. After the town's eccentric inhabitants unleash a scientific creation still unknown to the outside world, Carter steps in to restore order and consequently is let in on one of our country's best-kept secrets. From unrequited love to professional jealousy, from addiction to depression, the problems of Eureka's townsfolk grow from life's everyday challenges. But with the population's unique talents, troubled psyches, and limitless resources, these small-town concerns have a way of becoming big-time problems. It is at that intersection, where human frailty and super-science collide, that Eureka begins.

  • One of the best sci fi series ever created!

    By ThePoshPoodle
Eureka is definitely one of the best, ever created tv shows on the planet. It so original, funny, warm, happy, and exciting!
  • One of the greatest shows ever?

    By The Sisyphean Stentor
I definitely think it is. It has absolutely ridiculous science but it is never portrayed in that CSI, completely unrealistic but intended to seem accurate, way, but instead is approached like Star Trek science. It pushes political ideas which are always lefty but the show is too much fun to bother even a crazy right winger like me! The connections the show makes with older shows is pretty awesome if you notice them too. Sheriff Carter / Sheriff Truman, Deputy Andy / Deputy Andy, lots of trekkie and obscure references. All in all a great show and one of about three that I will rewatch. Very highly recommend.

Can someone write a review that includes the song that Jack and Alyson dance to in Primal? Thank you :)

I love Eureka so much! I've only watched the first three episodes, but i can't wait to watch more.
  • Sigh*

Ironic how this show specifically targets people with no intellect. I feel this production may appeal to a 9 year old, but then again, why expose a child to irreverent cliches?
  • Great Show All Around

This show appeals to three generations of my family: myself, my daughter and my mom. We all love it. Love the science. Love the characters. We love the plots. I'm sorry to see this show go. I hope they'll do a movie like Firefly.

I have watched all four seasons and find certain irritations with the show. First, the viewer has to be a scientific illiterate to not have his or her credibility overly strained or punctured beyond repair. Second, the show reflects certain unhealthy and incorrect perspectives among the cultural left; ex. men should be utterly emasculated to the point where they think and act just like females, the military is bad and its people are brain-dead warmongers; and people in law enforcement are not intellectually bright. Third, the show promotes all of the cultural left's social ideals in regards to race, religion, family, sexual identity and so forth. I am in an inter-racial and inter-religious marriage so these ideals do not bother me but I resent having them force-fed to me as a form of social engineering. Fourth, the show is essentially a soap opera surrounded by the guise of there being a smart town. What few plots there are in the course of four seasons is minimal. It is essentially a soap. Fifth, the writers make the standard Hollywood/New York mistake by considering the audience dumb. The Sheriff is Mr. 'Carter' as in Jimmy Carter. Same personality. Deputy Sheriff is 'Lupo' as in wolf who's personality she resembles. Stop hammering the obvious! If you know nothing of physics, know nothing of the military and law enforcement; enjoy soap operas and deeply identify with the values of the cultural left you will like this show. Otherwise, don't waste your time and money.
