Did Rent Live have its issues? Yes. Did Rent Live capture the feeling and emotion of vision of the late GREAT Jonathan Larson? Absolutely! People can pick the production apart all they want, but it has the most important part of Rent: LOVE. You can tell that everyone involved truly loved this show, and while on much much much less tragic level, the cast had to face their own adversity. I just hope this brings RENT back into the limelight and maybe is the spark that starts the fire to bring a new revival production of RENT on Broadway. 25th Anniversary in 2021.

Anyone who expects a dress rehearsal to be as good as opening night has never been in theater. It was clear these stars were saving themselves for the live performance but they did a stellar job and I’m just thankful we got it at all since poor Brennin Hunt took “break a leg” literally. It’s a tragedy that we didn’t get the performance these actors had worked so hard for but accidents happen and it’s no one’s fault. Overall, I think it was still an excellent production and worth seeing.
