Description

Dr. Max Goodwin is brilliant, charming -- and the new medical director at America's oldest public hospital. While he's set on tearing down the bureaucracy to provide exceptional care, the doctors and staff are not so sure. They've heard this before, and no one else has delivered on those promises. Not taking "no" for an answer, Max disrupts the status quo and proves he will stop at nothing to breathe new life into this understaffed, underfunded and underappreciated hospital -- the only one in the world capable of treating Ebola patients, prisoners from Rikers Island and the president of the United States all under one roof -- and return it to the glory that put it on the map. Inspired by Bellevue in New York City.

  • Great start-then disappointing

The show starts out fast moving and entertains. As the season progressed it became apparent that it is pushing a liberal agenda. The entertainment is gone and leaves only a hard sell of anti-conservative beliefs.

Really resonates with me. Happy to see idealism and care as in new Amsterdam, the resident, and code black. Caring people

I guess I’ll have to watch every single episode very carefully so that I can find the parts that someone considered “Booooring”. Can’t relate...

As a medical student, I watched St. Elsewhere. As a resident and fellow, I watched ER. I go to work for realism. I like a weekly dose of the idealism that brought me into Medicine, in the first place.

A great premise, cast, writing... an important social message. There was enough drama. There were enough storylines naturally built into your premise. Why did you have to muddy it up and uneccessarily complicate it with the main character having cancer? That's just schmuck bait. We know he's not going to die. Or, worse, we'll have to watch him die. Have faith in your own set up.

A great cast but a moronic premise. This may as well be make-believe land or a drug induced hallucination about some impossible form of socialized medicine.
  • Great show.
