Description

Candice Bergen and series creator Diane English reunite with members of the original creative team for MURPHY BROWN, the ground-breaking comedy about a broadcast news legend and her biting take on current events. The series returns to a world of 24-hour cable, social media, “fake” news and a vastly different political and cultural climate. With the nation divided, national discourse in chaos, and attacks on the press rampant, Murphy returns to the airwaves and recruits her FYI team: lifestyle reporter Corky Sherwood, investigative journalist Frank Fontana and her former wunderkind news producer Miles Silverberg. Joining them is social media director Pat Patel and Murphy’s millennial son Avery who is also following in her journalistic footsteps — perhaps too closely. Back in the game, Murphy is determined to draw the line between good television and honest reporting, proving that the world needs Murphy Brown now more than ever.

  • It's Anachronistic.

Same cast, much older, trying to replay their original roles. I liked the original Murphy Brown much better. Some good jokes - but it was just not enough to keep our attention through the entire show. We won't subscribe to the season. Die hard fans may still love it though.

I laughed out loud the whole time - its much funnier than I expected. Very iving it one starwell written and a joy! Its very political, as was the original, so if you like Trump, its not for you. Those who are giving it one star must be because its the funniest thing to hit prime time in as long as I remeber. Can't wait till next week. BRING IT ON MURPHY!
  • Confused on price

I realize that CBS is behind the eff up pricing and not the show or Apple... but it’s still annoying, so I’m going to state the obvious: why do we pay the same $29.99 for 11 episodes of Murphy Brown (30min show) that we also pay for 22 episodes of Blue Bloods (60min show)? Mind you… I could look past the 30min/60min difference… but the fact that there are half as many episodes? Really? No! I was super excited and willing to buy Murphy Brown (because I'm a cable cutter and I'm 99.9% sure it's going to be amazing), but based on principle... I’m not willing to pay the extra $10 to the pocket of CBS's 13.69-billion dollar annual revenue. What greedy d-bags! Come on Apple, think about it... the pricing is off.

Such a joy to watch this show. Very cool that Hillary Clinton was a surprise guest star in the season premiere.

I watched the pilot episode thinking I would get a simple trip down memory lane. Murphy Brown was on when I was in junior high school and high school and I arrived every bit of it because it was thoughtful, thought-provoking and most of all, funny. What I got from the pilot wasn't a simple nostalgic look back but instead, witty writing commentary on the state of things today. Murphy Brown is back.

Murphy is back stronger than ever! She was one of my heroes in the 90s, and I am excited to have her return to television. I hope everyone one watches and supports this show.
