It's been 50 years since we saw Samurai Jack and time has not been kind to him. Aku has destroyed every time portal and Jack has stopped aging, a side effect of time travel. It seems he is cursed to just roam the land for all eternity. His past haunts him as well as a cult of assassins dedicated to killing him for Aku's glory. What is this?!!! What is wrong with you CN and adult swim?!! This is very Jewish!!!! No Halloween episode either?! This show is very holidayless and Jewish! Why do people even watch this around Halloween time or Christmas time?!! There’s not a Christmas show!!! Grim adventures of billy and Mandy is Jewish too!

  • Beautiful show but...

I easily would have gave this a 5/5 but the ending is absolutely terrible. How could you do that to your own character Genndy?!?! To live a life like that would be compltely miserable. Please for the love of God play a 5 minute extension of the ending on adult swim sometime with a ending that is more justifying. Or make a movie where Jack saves Ashi and brings her back! Making the bittersweat ending where Jack and Ashi have to live in the future and raise a family there. Please Genndy! I beg you! Bring Ashi back!!! Don't let one of my most admired characters ever suffer like that. The world is grim enough as it is. We felt the loss, bring the happiness back!

Like all of the die-hard Jack fans, I was so ECSTATIC when the series got the reboot! And thank goodness Genndy took a step back from feature films to give Jack the EPIC conclusion he rightfully deserves!! You get it all in this season....kick-butt Samurai action, main character challenges to overcome, quirky villains, a little romantic-comedy, and ......(spoiler).........the fore-told conclusion of Jack's fate!! SO PERFECT!!! I'm still trying to understand why so many people hated the finale; it rattled me to the very core in a way that I haven't felt in a LONG time!! We all loved Ashi and her story, and yes, we all hated it when reality set in, but the lasting hope and inspiration in the end is a breath of FRESH, WELCOME air!! Mr. Tartakovsky, PLEASE do not pay attention to the hate! The crybabies just didn't get the perfect lollipop on a victory cake they whined for! The storytelling craft you and your crew put on was NOTHING short of perfection! As a die-hard Jack fan, I am forever grateful that you set out and gave us the AWESOME conclusion we have BEGGED for!!
  • Well done.

A perfect end to the series.
  • Started off fantastic, only to end with disappointment.

The first three (3) episodes of the season were the absolute best and could be considered some of the best episodes in the entire series. After the third episode, the season started taking a different direction that wasn't what I preferred but still enjoyed. The biggest problem after episode three was the pacing, I think there was too much happening within the next seven episodes that made the events feel forced and rushed I.E The Omen (horseman), Jack and Ashi's relationship, Ashi meeting Jack's friends and her reformation etc. I still think the season was doing well, but the biggest grievance I have is the finale. The final episode, in my personal opinion, was handled horribly. It was treated like it was just a regular 22 minute episode despite the ending it had. It really should have been an hour long special and Jack having a final battle with future Aku. I don't want to get too in detail with the finale but there's a big problem near the end of the episode. When Jack got back to the past and killed Aku, Ashi no longer exists, this means that the portal Ashi made SHOULD NOT EXIST. Jack should not be in the past, he should still be in the future because of this. But, then again it's just a cartoon, right? Still, it just hurts to see such an amazing cartoon end on a very low and underwhelming note. I will always keep my love for Samurai Jack and it will always be one of my favorite cartoons of all time, but I cannot excuse the poor performance the finale had. I would rate the season 4 out of 5, but because of the finale being a big disappointment, I cannot rate it higher than a 3.

Most of these reviews where written when the first couple of episodes came out and it started out really strong. Unfortunately, it didn't keep up the pace throughout the season. Jack taking on the daughters of Aku were very rivetting and kept you wondering what will happen to Jack but then it just died off after that. The ending felt rushed in order to fit it into the episode schedule and time slot. Sad that this series had to end on that foot.
