A teenage girl and her father travel to a remote alien moon, aiming to strike it rich. They've secured a contract to harvest a large deposit of the elusive gems hidden in the depths of the moon's toxic forest. But there are others roving the wilderness and the job quickly devolves into a fight to survive. Forced to contend not only with the forest's other ruthless inhabitants, but with her own father's greed-addled judgment, the girl finds she must carve her own path to escape.

  • I honestly tried...

Have you seen the movie Brigsby Bear (which I loved)? Do you remember how the main character (Kyle Mooney) was obsessed with a fictitious bear named Brigsby and the associated adventures Brigsby would get into (sortis crystal, gunner foxes, sun snatcher)... Well this movie (Prospect) is LITERALLY an entire movie made up of the same nonsensical storyline that Brigsby encountered in his adventures. This movie has no direction, zero character development, is constantly evolving with words and phrases that feel like they’re spontaneously made up. It’s as if the director simply told the actors to just make stuff up as they go along. Sci-Fi movies are known to be a little off kilter. This movie is just plain stupid. Seriously, I’m an avid sci-fi/indie movie enthusiast. This. Is. Terrible!
  • Great little independent film

Surprisingly well made and well acted sci-fi. Had some brilliant concepts that kept you intrigued even when there were lulls in the action. Hollywood should take note, it is possible to make a great sci-fi without spending tens of millions of dollars.
  • Gripping. Well done.

A great film and a great story.
  • What a flick

Blown away , best movie I’ve seen in years
  • Excellent Film

This is a fantastic movie with some slick design work. They just don’t make sci-if like this anymore. It is gritty with what appears to be the rare use of CGI. The story is simple and not overly complex yet your left fully engaged and engrossed in the world. This is the type of movie that leaves you wondering about other elements of the universe the characters inhabit. I’m so happy I stumbled on this and can’t believe the film hasn’t received more buzz.
  • I found it boring

    By WillKill4Pizza
Sorry but I found it boring. I had read the reviews and was looking forward to it but just don't get what all the critics were raving about. They must all be smoking something and out of touch with what a typical movie-goer wants. This is a really slow movie, sound design was bad, looked cheap. I guess it is good for those who like pretentious arthouse fare.
  • Better than anything Hollywood produces.

I wasn't sure what to expect, but a post mentioned this Indie Sci-Fi film, so when I saw it on iTunes I gave it a try. What a gem. Without any background, or cumbersome overkill that focuses on effects over story, this movie is a beautiful, and suspenseful story. I enjoyed the characters who felt real and solid. This could have been a Western, but used the Sci-Fi elements well. The story was solid, the actors were real, I watched it twice back to back, it was that refreshing to have such a solid storyline after seeing what Hollywood has put out for so long. This is a great Sci-Fi movie because you don't have to be a fan of Sci-Fi to like it.
  • If they spoke in French!

    By Imagination
If it was French and had subtitles it would be a masterpiece! Americans hate slow paced films so if it has subtitles you need to read the pace quickens. Anyway all kidding aside it's a really good film.
  • So slow and predictable

    By Maspy
We rented this knowing it’s an Indy film and wouldn’t have the big budget special effects (like zero gravity). That being the case, this moving pacing was so slow that it was hard to watch it to the end. There were also a lot of details (which I won’t mention to avoid spoilers) that didn’t make any sense. Not to mention the whole premise of the movie was never given enough backstory that you actually cared what happened to these people.
  • Ok Movie

    By World saver 34601
The movie was definitely not a high budget Hollywood blockbuster. The story line and plot was decent, but I have seen just as good on Netflix or Amazon prime for free. Knowing what I know now would I have rented the movie, probably not. I was only moderately entertained.
