Description

Peppermint is an action thriller which tells the story of young mother Riley North (Jennifer Garner) who awakens from a coma after her husband and daughter are killed in a brutal attack on the family. When the system frustratingly shields the murderers from justice, Riley sets out to transform herself from citizen to urban guerilla. Channeling her frustration into personal motivation, she spends years in hiding honing her mind, body and spirit to become an unstoppable force – eluding the underworld, the LAPD and the FBI- as she methodically delivers her personal brand of justice.

Wow, this was terrible. Just because its an ‘action’ flick by label doesn’t make it one..it was just bad.

I just watched this movie from beginning to end and it was spectacular. It was highly entertaining. Jen Garner crushed it. I have no idea who panned this movie, but it was an exceptional dark action film and if you are trying to decide whether or not to rent or buy this do yourself a favor and lean in. You will watch this again and again. Garner is spectacular.

Great movie, left me wanting more of story. I don’t critics got it at all.

This movie was terrible. And I can't help but wonder who's pushing the political message in it, given all of the bot reviews on here giving it 5 stars. Just awful. And I love action movies... and generally love Jennifer Garner. This movie made me lose a lot of respect for her.
  • Better than most movies out there

Let me tell you. I sat through high grossing marvel and other movies in recent years, dying of boredom and walking out before the end. Time stood literary still while watching those. This movie has actual story, has emotions, no stupid jokes, and we can all relate to the feeling of revenge on some level. So I recommend watching. Plus Jennifer kills everyone. Spoiler alert

Never trust the official reviewers. It was an action filled movie with a sweet ending.

...if Rotten Tomatoes says it’s awful, but the fans say it’s good - it’s worth renting. If Rotten Tomatoes says it’s great and the fans agree - it’s worth buying. Never trust Rotten Tomatoes - for God’s sake, they loved “The Shape Of Water”! Rent this (if it’s still $.99 - it’s a steal).
  • Not great but entertaining

I felt much or her origin story was missing, which was mostly told by security footage narrated by an FBI agent. There was very little on how she hunted and fought the three killers who pulled the triggers. They just (spoilers) show up dead a quarter a way through the film. For a revenge film, I felt a lot dissatisfaction there. The action was good, but it looks like the movie was shot in four weeks, sort of like an HBO movie. In this case, I can understand why critics didn’t give it a 90% Fresh score.
  • Good movie - ignore critics
