Description

Expect the unexpected in Boots Riley’s directorial debut, Sorry to Bother You — an outrageously surreal look at capitalism, corporate greed, and fractured workplace dynamics. In an alternate present-day version of Oakland, California, struggling telemarketer Cassius Green (Lakeith Stanfield) discovers a magical key to professional success, which propels him into a macabre universe.

stupidest movie i have ever seen, worst music - blah. not even worth the price of rental. the only funny moment is the one is the trailer. never mind allegory, it's not even a weel done allegory. just gross trash.

The film starts in such a great way, with its art direction and story telling. But, by about half way through, it gives up on both in effort to disturb and shock. Unfortunately, while it succeeds in both shock and unsettling, it also unseats the story so thoroughly that it doesn’t recover. I’d say it’s a pass on this film.

This movie is hipster dog crap. Guess the people at rotten tomatoes are smoking crack these days. If you’re into farting into whine glasses and smelling it then this is the movie for you.
  • Strong start, but goes off the rails

This film starts like off like a witty Spike Lee joint, contains some excellent performances with insightul social commentary, but Boots Riley's choice of grotesque imagery to reinforce otherwise decent points is a sign of directorial weakness.

perhaps the most convincing account of just where our world is headed. as one RT review said: it is, effectively, a proletarian call to arms.

This isn’t a bad movie, I personally didn’t like it. However I do have high respect for the film makers for taking risks in telling this story.

I was very excited to watch this movie. We Watched the trailers and it looked really funny. After watching half an hour things got really bad. Not to spoil it but what a ridiculous, bad movie.

Overwhelmingly good and earnest movie. It deals with complicated topics but doesn't shove its viewpoints down your throat. Good for watching multiple times.

Saw this movie. Kind of bad. Boring and pretty stupid. Waste of time and money.
