Jennifer Lawrence is Dominika, a former ballerina forced to enter Sparrow School, a secret government program that trains young recruits to manipulate, seduce and kill. She emerges as a dangerous agent, but is trapped in a world she desperately wants to escape. With the lives of her loved ones at risk, Dominika must find a way to take back control and serve justice to those who betrayed her.

  • Did the movie deliver?

I think it did. She was going to do what she wanted, not providing sex to anyone the state wanted and she showed she held the power still. Say what you want; reality is ugly sometimes. Beheadings, rapes, murder. etc happen daily. Stop being prudish on the “gratuitous” content because of its shock value, be critical of the acting if that’s your thing. I would see this movie again on Netflix or other streaming service.

Just the other day this movie was selling for 7.99. Why the price increase and why would someone pay 14.99 now after you already offered it at a lower price? Get with it Itunes.
  • Decent but forgettable

Honestly, the acting is solid and the pace is fine. The locations are all spot on. But 5 minutes after watching it, you'll have completely forgotten the film. Nothing about it is particularly memorable. And the end of the film can be predicted within the first 15 minutes (there are no surprise twists...just a steady pace toward an inevitable outcome).

Jennifer is amazing in this role! She can really act in a way I never seen before! This is a crazy but great movie!
  • Degrading to men!

    By SheilaFromLA
This was a pretty good spy thriller about Cold War ops by both the US and Russia. And Jennifer Lawrence is great as the tile character - an elite ballerina forced into the spy game. Of course they “train” her to be a seductress, etc. by using males in the most horrible ways. There’s even full frontal male nudity after they make one of her male comrades strip in front of all the other cadets -both male and female. It’s just humiliating. And then they portray every other male in the movie as a psycho, mole, torturer, or rapist! The writers only make the US male operative as the only male with a sense of morality and conscience- if there is such a thing in the spy world. It’s just blatant exploitation of men and sets back male equality decades. I think there are better spy movies to see...
