One of the most celebrated movie series of all time comes to its thrilling conclusion in the last chapter of The Hunger Games. Jennifer Lawrence stars as Katniss Everdeen, who began her journey fighting to survive the brutal Hunger Games, and rose to lead the rebellion against Panem's tyrannical president (Donald Sutherland). Now, Katniss and a team of rebels from District 13 prepare for the final epic battle that will decide Panem's future.

During it's original release, I was intrigued by this series of movies, but never got around to seeing them. (I did make a mental note that one day I would.) I never read the books, so my reference for the material is based solely on the movies. From beginning to end, this series enthralled me (and I admit a love for dystopian stories, so I may be a little biased.) What it does though, it does exceedingly well. The story, adaptation, acting, directing, cinematography, special effects, costume and set design are all stellar. I was engaged through all four parts and this finale (Mockingjay 2) is a fitting ending. I think what surprised me the most was how much the ending affected me. It is exquisite, beautiful, bittersweet--so many emotions that are within the final scene. Loved every minute of this as well as the entire series!

  • Book Series and Movie Series

Some years ago I downloaded the first movie and watched part of it. I could not continue watching it was too intense. I purchased the book trilogy. I read the books and could not bring myself to go back and watch the movie, it was still too intense. Of course, the books were also intense but I was ok reading them. When I do read a good book I go back to it and read it again. In this case I could not bring myself to re-read the Hunger Games books. Then just a few days ago I decided to try again. I was sucessful and read the trilogy again. Next I watched the entire first movie and purchase the remaining three and watched them too. So in the past week I've re-read the trilogy and watched all four of the movies. They are still extreemly intense. However, in lght of recent events in the United States in the Fall of 2016 and now in 2017 I find that I can tollerate much darker fiction. A very dark reality allows you to tollerate dark fiction I supose. The book was adapted for the screen by the author and it truly is an excellent adaptation. So now I wonder if I can after some months or perhaps a year or so go back and read the books again and also watch the movies. I think I iwll be able to, and will enjoy them..

Why are none of these movies for rent? Seriously? Can anyone answer this question? Why are some movies for rent, just any movie and some are not for rent at all? This is the only draw back I have come across in the Apple kingdom. Making the customer/consumer do something they do not want to do. TNT is currently showing these movies but is not showing the last. Is this a play to make you buy the movie/s from Apple? And people wonder why conspiracy theories exist.
